It is a versatile ensemble with a fairly compact yet breezy presence with easy access to reconstituted rooms, meeting facilities and children's play areas. Typhoon tykes will be fully occupied with the dedicated kids’ lagoon and pool featuring 30m water slides. There is also a camp for kids aged six to twelve. The beach offers further freelance distractions for all ages but best of all are the vast views and spectacular sunsets at a leisurely pace - starting with huge, generously unhurried breakfasts from 6am to 11am.

A Deluxe Ocean View with 45sq m of neat airy space includes a balcony, large 'smart' HD TV, an even larger bed, small foyer, wooden flooring with a patterned blue and gold carpet and a cobalt headboard for the bed. The rooms are smart, contemporary and unfussy with space for children to romp without smashing some priceless object, while functional for conference goers who may blush at the prospect of a

see-through bathroom wall with blinds for privacy. Expect a rainshower, a soaking tub, single vanity, iron and ironing board and a sensibly empty mini-bar (just order the content package of your choice). Tea and coffee are available in-room. This is a bright space that will delight those with gadget mania as there is a useful surplus of three-pin multiplug points - one on either side of the bed (with USB ports) and two by the side of the TV. There is no work desk so toss out that spreadsheet and unwind. The new rooms are a game changer.

Other feathers in the cap at this busy, friendly resort are 300sq m pool villas (in one to three-bedroom layouts with indoor and outdoor showers, BOSE sound, iPod Docks, large LCD screen televisions, and the usual mod-cons. For workaholics there's a newish 1,100sq m convention centre with banquet space for 760 persons. Clearly MICE and weddings (with the addition of a separate open air wedding pavilion for 30 guests) is the name of the game at this rebranded property and the place is well positioned to offer both style and value with a spa to boot for aching limbs apres work or play.
